Framed Pastel 28 X 20.5
Wandering around art museums is one of my favorite things to do. It was during a visit to the Legion of Honor in San Francisco that I turned a corner and came face to face with a statue that caught my attention and then continued to entrance me for the better part of half an hour. The plaque had very little information other than a title and that it was dated France late 1400s. I took many pictures of it and enjoyed this perspective the most. I wanted to study the wonderful shadows and highlights that play across the surface. I am intrigued by the fact that there is no artists name attributed to this piece, yet I am taken with it more than some of the most celebrated sculptors works. I like to try to imagine the person who made this lovely sculpture.
