Melissa Eggleston

Black Heron

$1,200.00

I met this bird on Alcatraz island.  Actually, I first heard him before I spotted him.  He was hulking along a beam next to the boats.  He was hunched over and with every step he took he would make a long “harrumph” kind of sound as he lurched forward.  I nicknamed him the “Peter Lorre bird” because he reminded me of one of those sneaky dark character from 40s movies as he snuck along.  I wanted to paint every detail of this birds amazing feet and eyes!

Framed Pastel On Sanded Paper. 14 x 20

This piece has been beautifully framed and includes museum grade plexiglass; a virtually invisible anti-reflective coating allowing viewers to see the finest details, while its UV-filtering, abrasion resistant acrylic, and anti-static coating protects and preserves the work.
